Caregiving Stress

Post by andreaA » Tue Aug 28, 2018 8:41 pm

I am taking care of my dying mother...I have decent help from my siblings, but I still feel so very alone sometimes. I'd heard how hard caregiving is, but no can know how hard the reality is until you're in it. I often feel guilty about feeling alone or stressed. Just looking for some advice and kind words--what do you do to keep going through such a difficult time?

With declining loved ones, we always have regrets...because we are not perfect and are doing all we know to do with love. Guilt and anticipated grief can creep in as life changes again and again, and that's completely normal. Just remember: Is she safe? Comfortable? Well-cared for? Then you're doing it right. Thoughts and prayers to you.
