Description of resource: Mercy Medical Center is a community-based, patient-centered, full-service acute-care hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts that gives streamlined access to our entire continuum of services. This includes rehabilitation, behavioral health and continuing care services such as home health care, skilled nursing facilities and hospice – all provided with compassion and respect for the individual. From primary care to cancer care and education, our staff is here throughout every step of your health journey. Mercy Medical Center focuses on the holistic healing of every patient. We want our patients to be well, and we focus on proactive health and wellness before emergency care is needed. Our services range from physical care services—cancer care, cardiology services, stroke care, and more—to social services and spiritual care. Chaplains are on staff to assist patients with the difficult questions that often arise in times of illness and injury, such as how to find meaning and dignity. Mercy Medical Center also staffs a Language Interpreter Service to assist patients with interpretation needs
